This month we were honored to receive an award from the American Marketing Association for building a financial education brand.
We had a great SMMC Board of Directors meeting, where we reviewed our program accomplishments and challenges from the spring semester and discussed our future program strategy.
We wrote articles for financial literacy professional journals
highlighting what we've learned about financial literacy and college
students. We also wrote articles for University publications aimed at
the parents of our students.
We had the opportunity to network with financial professionals who conduct research on the financial literacy of Americans through our leadership role in the Association for Financial Counseling & Planning Education's Annual Research Conference.
We also spent time at Lincoln high schools and community organizations, including the People's City Mission, presenting financial literacy workshops and helping with job-readiness activities.
